Review: The Brillier Americana 'Native Watch' is a gorgeous work of art

Watchmaking is best associated with two countries: Switzerland and Japan. That wasn't always the case though. Before the Great Depression hit, America had played a much more prominent role in watch manufacturing than it does today. Brillier Watches wants to revitalize American watch production, by bringing manufacturing back to the United States with their new Brillier Americana collection.

Flor opens up Boston, Mass. location, collaborates with local artist Rene Gagnon

If you're in the market for a fashionable decorative rug, then exploring the plethora of stylish options available from Flor.com may be well worth your time. The company just opened up a new Burlington, Mass. location, just within driving distance for residents of the Greater Boston area who may have heard of their website before but wanted to actually see their rugs in person before making an online purchase. For the store's opening, they teamed up with local street artist Rene Gagnon to make a gorgeous work of art.

Flor produces modular carpet tiles, which let you make bespoke rugs. You can mix and match from hundreds of different tiles, either in person at one of their 19 locations across the United States or online, to make your own custom area rug or runner. For the Burlington, Mass. grand opening, Gagnon created a one-of-a-kind rug which is hanging as a work of art for all visitors to see. Flor has additionally partnered with the Boston-based charity Cradles to Crayons by donating some of their product to Cradles to Crayons's locations and also "acting as a donation drop off location during specified times of the year."

One neat thing about the Flor brand is that the company will recycle any used Flor tiles. Just email them your information, and they'll send you a shipping slip to send your old Flor tiles back to them and they'll transform it into new rug pieces. That's a great forward thinking and environmentally friendly initiative.

We're looking forward to seeing what rug styles the company has to offer in person and trying out the custom rug creation process for ourselves. What kind of Flor creation would you make for your home? Please let us know on Twitter by tagging @David_Leavitt.
