Review: Mission Belts always fit and help fight world poverty

We've had many belts over the years and have noticed one common trend: The leather quickly fatigues and the holes stretch around the buckle. Mission Belt Co. solves this problem and creates a gorgeous accessory that performs exceptionally in both form and function. Mission Belt Co. sent us one of their hole-less Mission belts from their new "browns collection." The steel 40 mm in mocha brown, to be precise.

Putting on a Mission Belt Co. belt involves one super easy step: Simply slide the leather strap into the buckle. You'll hear several audible clicks as the belt's automatic ratchet secures the belt closed. There's a good six inches of clasping plastic on the inner side of the leather strap. That's plenty to account for fluctuations of weight. If the belt is just too long, then you can remove the buckle and trim it down to size. To take off the mission belt, use the small lever under the buckle. In the event that the ratchet is stuck, while using the lever you pull the belt slightly tighter and then it'll come loose.

The Mission Belt Co.'s "browns collection" comes in five different shades of brown: Dark brown, chocolate brown, mocha brown, tan brown and light brown. There's also nine different buckles to choose from: Steel, bronze, iron, alloy, unobtanium, twentyfour, gun metal, black magic, and gold. We should note that Mission Belt Co. also offers individual nylon and leather straps, along with buckles, so that you can mix and match your own personal styles.

The company's name is derived from its ethos: Mission Belt Co. takes $1 from every belt purchased to fund its mission to help fight global poverty. Mission Belt Co. does this through providing micro-loans from $25-$500 via their Kiva Lending page. Since 2013 Mission Belt Co. has made over 29,000 unique loans in over 65 nations across the globe.

Mission Belts Co. offers something for everyone. Their "browns collection" belts start at $34.95. Additional straps (which are available in many other colors too) and buckles can be purchased from $20 and up; However, we cannot speak to the ease of use in switching the buckles between belts. In all we were extremely satisfied with our Misison Belt Co. belt. It fit perfectly every time we put it on, and looked fantastic both with jeans and dress pants. We'll never have to worry about the leather on the front getting stretched out or the holes becoming bigger with use because there are no holes. According to Mission Belt Co. their belts "won't crack" and they have a "crack free guarantee." Oh, and did we mention you'll be helping to fight world poverty?
